VISIONS OF HOPE,
INC. BENEFITS WHISPERING HOPE RANCH Scottsdale Magazine -
May/June 2003
Visions of Hope, Inc.
recently hosted its first annual event, "Golf & Fashion in the
Desert," on April 17 at Silverleaf and The Country Club at DC Ranch.
A golf tournament at Silverleaf and a fashion show, dinner and
auction at The Country Club at DC Ranch rounded out the daylong
event. Hole-in-one prizes included a 2003 Lexus and a 2003 Jaguar
while auction items such as a seven-night stay in Keystone,
Colorado, a limited edition giclee on canvas by Ron Burns, golf
packages at Whisper Rock, Silverleaf and The Rim Club, as well as a
tour of the New York Stock Exchange, generated lively bidding
action.
All proceeds generated from "Golf &
Fashion in the Desert 2003" were donated to Whispering Hope Ranch
Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to offer rustic Arizona
ranch-style camp and retreat experiences enhanced by programs
designed to foster nurturing interactions between campers and the
animals residing at the ranch.
With the unique format of the event and
tremendous support from contributors, "Golf & Fashion in the
Desert 2003" sold out within one week from the date invitations were
posted. More than 200 individuals purchased event packages that
ranged from $125 to $495 per person.
"I would like to personally thank all our
contributors that helped make this event possible," said Kristen
Salcito-Brotz, president of Visions of Hope. "We will touch the
lives of many children and create memories that will last a
lifetime."
Major contributors for "Golf &
Fashion in the Desert 2003" included Arrow Electric, Camelot Homes,
The Country Club at DC Ranch, Jennifer Croll, Croll Sport, Michele
Marketing, Salcito Custom Homes, Scottsdale Jaguar, Scottsdale
Lexus, Scottsdale Magazine and Silverleaf.
