In 1998
WHR began offering special needs guests and
groups day trips, retreats and organized camps (with campers staying
off-site). Thousands of guests have participated in
equine-facilitated and animal-assisted activities with the over 100
animal residents of WHR; nature hikes; carriage rides; arts and
crafts; spinning and weaving fiber from ranch llamas and cashmere
goats and photography.
Special needs groups and individuals are
frequent guests for retreats and day visits during the non-summer
months.
